How to put on arm sling following shoulder surgery.?
My husband had shoulder surgery today and had an arm sling placed in recovery. He wanted to put on a t-shirt so we took off the arm sling and cann't figure out how they had it. I know how an arm sling works but his also had his hand immobilized.
Place the elbow in the closed end of the sling. Then bring the strap behind the back and over the opposite shoulder with the neck pad in place. Bring the strap down to the wrist and place the wrist in the sling. Slip the end of the strap into the two metal rings at the opening of the sling. Adjust the sling so that his elbow rests comfortably at his side and keep the hand SLIGHTLY above the elbow.
